Dan McKinley, President & CEO
Dan is PAVE’s founding president and CEO and has been with the organization continuously since 1991, as it’s evolved from a scholarship program to the governance and leadership-focused hub it is today. He favors common sense education reform strategies and leverages his Philosophy degree when analyzing and understanding the intricacies of education in Milwaukee.
Joan Feiereisen, Director of Governance & Board Leadership
Involved with education, schools, strategic planning and fundraising since the beginning of her career, Joan has seen it all and brings exceptional leadership to PAVE’s Partner Schools and the Board Corps program from a variety of perspectives. Her depth of experience is a valuable asset, as PAVE’s stakeholders have a variety of of different needs.
Dave Steele, Director of School Partnerships
Dave believes in the power of communities to affect change and his background in urban planning, statistical and data analysis, and public policy analysis, enables him to effectively work with PAVE’s Partner Schools and meet them where they are in the context of today’s complex education environment.
Michelle Burmeister, Communications Director
Supporting PAVE’s team with marketing, public relations and online/offline media strategies, Michelle ensures that PAVE’s mission and the importance of good governance is embraced and understood by the Milwaukee community in order to improve education for the vast number of children in our city from low-income families.
Ben Hannemann, Director of Mission Advancement
Ben joined PAVE motivated by the opportunity to combine expertise from his private sector work, with volunteer activity and board service on behalf of a high-performing Milwaukee school. His passion for urban education is shaped by his belief in the power of ideas, the potential within every child, and the possibilities created when diverse groups of people work together towards a common cause.
Marcela Garcia, Associate Director of Governance & Board Leadership
Marcela comes from a family of educators and is a strong advocate for education, women and girls, and the arts. Her program development and evaluation background has shaped PAVE’s Board Corps program and created strong ties to both the professional and nonprofit communities in Milwaukee.
Kennie Charnetsky, Executive Assistant
With extensive experience working for large corporations in the Milwaukee area, Kennie effectively manage’s PAVE’s office and supports the team in a variety of areas, enabling everyone to stay focused on helping school boards drive innovation and making excellent educational opportunities possible for Milwaukee’s children.
